Sheila Ongie, is our Head of Sustainability Strategy here at thinkPARALLAX and we thought this would be a good time, before we get too deep into the second half of 2024, to tap into her 15 years of corporate sustainability experience to get a sense of what she’s seeing and hearing this year.

In this episode we tackled a bunch of your corporate sustainability questions that are likely on your mind.  We dove into topics like:

  • How do you think clients are feeling about their sustainability programs/progress right now?
  • What's stood out since the beginning of the year?
  • What should practitioners keep an eye on as we head into the back half of the year?
  • What’s the general mood in sustainability, CSR, and ESG?
  • What's something you've seen this year that's making you optimistic? Is there anything that's got you down?
  • What do you think sustainability pros are struggling with the most right now?
  • What are you most excited about right now?
  • For sustainability pros building next year's budget, what’s a “must include”?

During the course of our 40 minute conversation, we uncovered Sheila’s thoughts on those topics and more. Sheila draws on her 15 years of experience in corporate sustainability in a brand, at a co-op, and at multiple sustainability consulting companies, nonprofits and industry groups to offer us a well-rounded perspective on what happened, what’s happening, and where we might be headed.
